Today I did something I’ve always wanted to do: swim in clear blue water.
This was the fourth spring we’ve visited but I didn’t swim in any until Little River Springs in Brandford, Florida.
The springs is an inlet off the Suwanee River and maintains a temperature of 72 degrees. The edge is sandy and we found a little cubby with a nice sandy grade with rock on either edge and it fit all five of us perfectly. Also, anyone else who was there didn’t bother us.
I think we could have stayed in that water for days.
There are picnic tables and grills there, too, in addition to some trails but we didn’t venture too far.
One thing we’ve discovered at these springs is what appear to be fossils of some kind. I’m not an expert at all, so…
We’re on a mission to visit all of the springs here that we can, because they’re awesome?
Some are free and all of the state park springs charge admission but it’s not much – usually around $5/car.
It’s so worth it.
